A note from me

I run Pivoting Point Coaching and Consulting as a small business, and your privacy matters to me. I do my best to handle your information carefully and to follow the privacy rules that apply to my work. I keep this policy here on my website so you can always see how I operate. This policy covers Pivoting Point Coaching and Consulting, which operates as The Menopause Doula and Menopause At Work, across our websites louiseneil.com, themenopausedoula.ca, and menopauseatwork.ca. It explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we look after it. By using our services, you agree to what is described here. Throughout this policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Pivoting Point Coaching and Consulting.

A Few Definitions

A handful of words in this policy have a specific meaning. They mean the same thing whether they are singular or plural.

Account - a unique account created for you to access our services or parts of them.

Company - (also "we," "us," or "our") means Pivoting Point Coaching and Consulting, operating as The Menopause Doula and Menopause At Work. You can reach us at louise@louiseneil.com.

Device - any device that can access our services, such as a computer, phone, or tablet.

Personal Data - any information that relates to you as an identifiable person.

Service - the consulting and coaching services we offer, and the websites we run them on.

Service Provider - a person or company that handles information on our behalf, for example to help run, deliver, or improve our services.

Usage Data - information collected automatically as you use our services, such as how long you spend on a page.

You - the person using our services, or the organization on whose behalf that person is using them.

What We Collect and Why

Information you give us

When you work with us or reach out, we may ask for information that identifies or lets us contact you. That usually includes:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number
• Your mailing address, city, province or state, postal or ZIP code, and country

Information collected automatically

Some information is gathered on its own as you browse. This can include your device's IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, the date and time of your visit, how long you stay, and similar diagnostic details. If you visit on a mobile device, we may also see the type of device, its identifiers, and its operating system and browser.

Cookies and similar tools

Like most websites, ours use cookies and similar technologies (such as beacons, tags, and scripts) to keep things working, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, though some parts of the site may not work as well if you do. Our emails may also contain small files that tell us whether a message was opened, which helps us see what is useful.

Payment information

When you buy something from us, we collect the information needed to process your payment, such as your card details and billing address. We use trusted third-party payment processors to handle this securely, and they follow the PCI-DSS security standards used across the payment industry. We use your payment details only to complete your purchase and for billing, and we share them only with our payment processors and others as needed to complete the transaction.

How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

• Provide our services and keep them running well
• Manage your account and give you access to the parts of our services meant for you
• Deliver what you have purchased and carry out our side of any agreement with you
• Stay in touch with you about your account, your purchases, and important updates
• Send you news, offers, and information about related services, unless you have told us you would rather not hear about them
• Respond to your questions and requests
• Understand how our services are used so we can improve them

There are a few situations where we may share your information:

• With service providers.  The people and companies that help us run our services, such as our website host, email platform, and payment processors. They only handle what they need to do their part.
• If the business changes hands.  If Pivoting Point Coaching and Consulting is ever sold, merged, or transferred, your information may move with it. We would let you know before anything changed.
• Within a community space.  If you share information in a group or community area of our services, other members there may see it. Please share thoughtfully in those spaces.
• With your permission.  Any other sharing happens only when you have agreed to it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with unrelated companies for their own marketing.

How Long We Keep It

We keep your personal information only as long as we need it for the reasons set out here, or as long as the law requires (for example, to meet tax or record-keeping obligations, settle a dispute, or enforce our agreements). Automatically collected usage data is generally kept for a shorter time, unless we need it longer to keep our services secure and working.

Where Your Information Is Handled

We work with service providers whose systems may be located outside your province, state, or country, where privacy laws may be different from your own. By sharing your information with us, you agree to it being handled in those places. Wherever it goes, we take reasonable steps to make sure it stays protected and is treated in line with this policy.

Keeping Your Information Secure

We take the security of your information seriously and use sensible measures to protect it. At the same time, no way of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so while we do our best, we cannot promise it is impossible for anything to go wrong.

Your Choices and Rights

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time. If you have an account, you can update much of it yourself in your account settings. You can also just email us and we will help. The only thing we may hold onto is information we are legally required to keep.

When We May Have to Disclose Information

There are limited circumstances where we may need to share your information beyond what is described above:

• If the business is sold or transferred.  As noted above, your information may move with it, and we would give you notice first.
• If the law requires it.  We may share information if we are legally required to, or in response to a valid request from a court or public authority.
• To protect people or rights.  We may share information in good faith when it is necessary to follow the law, protect our rights or property, look into possible wrongdoing, keep people safe, or defend against legal claims.

Links to Other Websites

Our services sometimes link to sites we do not run. If you follow one of those links, you will be on someone else's site, and we cannot take responsibility for how they handle your information. It is always worth glancing at the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the updated version takes effect once it is posted here, so it is worth checking back now and then.
